Biography
Gert matriculated in 1979 and completed two years’ National Service. He is the son of actor Louis van Niekerk.
Youth
Training
He studied drama at the University of Pretoria from 1982 to 1985.
Career
After graduating he joined PACT until 1988.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
For PACT he did productions such as Bloeiende Lente, Bar and Ger, The Road to Slagtersenek, Die Laaste Sondag, Opstand van die Narre, Kyk Hoe Hol Hulle, 'n Seder Val in Waterkloof and Die Van Aardes van Grootoor.
For SWAPAC he did More is ’n Lang Dag and for CAPAB Stille Nag.
Since 19** has been on the production team of Franz Marx Productions. ??**
He has appeared on television in Arende and Agter Elke Man and in the film The Devil.
