Biography

She studied at Rhodes University (BA Honours) and University of Cape Town (M.A. in Theatre Making) and enrolled for a PhD. Her research interests lie in issues of black girlhood/wonmanhood, nostalgia, memory, vocality and displacement. Her research is closely allied to her performance work.

As film and stage performer has collaborated with numerous international and national arts festivals.

Publications include an article on " 'Piecing together a Girlhood' ": Using the 'Girlfriend Aesthetic' as a Practical Methodology in the Making and Performance of Katuntu (...and you too). " (Igweonu, 2007)
