The Crossing, by Jonathan Khumbulani Nkala. A one-man play about a Zimbabwean refugee who came to Cape Town. Based on Nkala’s account of his journey, and developed with the help of director Bo Petersen it was first produced (as The Journey) in 2006 in the Garage Theatre. In 2008 it was developed further and became The Crossing, and has had successful runs in Zimbabwe and South Africa,. The text was published by Junket in 2009 (with The Bicycle Thief).
