Staticphlow (or Staticphlow.com)is a non-commercial archive intended to make research and activism on aspects of youth culture and youth development visible online, by allowing participants to contribute their academic research, journalistic work and artistic productions to the portal in order to build a non-commercial archive that will host research, activism and art relating to youth culture.
The aim is to build bridges between artists, academics and activists and create a virtual archive on youth culture research in the Global South, in order to create a space for researchers – who are exploring aspects of youth culture, development and activism from a range of disciplines – to network and share resources.
The site was developed by Gary Stewart, a lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Cape Town and is edited by Adam Haupt of the Centre for Film and Media Studies at UCT.
