Cockpit ( produced 1948, included in Plays of the Year 1, 1949)by Irish-British sceenwriter, playwright and novelist Bridget Boland (1913-1988).

Performance history in South Africa

First staged in South Africa at the Little Theatre, Cape Town in 1949, directed by Leonard Schach for the UCT Dramatic Society. Decor was by Cecil Pym and it starred Nigel Hawthorne, Peter Lamsley, Job Stewart, Laurie van der Merwe.

The name of the “Cockpit Players” derives from this production.
