Dirk la Cock is best known as an occasional playwright, translator and contributor to Afrikaans literary texts.

Biography
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Besides translations of various prose works, including Die Boesmans van Suid-Afrika (a book by Anges Jackson), he is known for Die Reënboom ("The rain tree"), a one act play first published in Die Beskermengel en ander eenbedrywe by Tafelberg, 1962 and in Die Reënboom en ander eenbedrywe by Tafelberg in 1981, with a second edition in 1983.
