Roundabout Theatre Company was a street theatre company founded in Cape Town and active in 1976-1980.
Also found as (Not to be confused with the South African company the Roundabout Theatre Company/Theatre Roundabout Roadshow Company or The Roundabout Theatre Company, a leading non-profit theatre company based in New York City founded in 1965 [1].)

The company
In Fiona Ramsey's interview on Theatre Lives, she suggests that in 1976, Roundabout Theatre Company was being run by Henry Goodman, working with UCT Drama students, presenting street theatre. Before anyone had heard the term they took improvised plays into the workplace where audiences were invited to take part to solve problems (an early form of industrial theatre).
Whether these are two separate companies, or whether Goodman took over Darnley's concept, is unclear at this stage.
