Biography
Joanie studied at Akademie vir Dramakuns in Cape Town.
She was married to film-maker Herman Binge (1953-2021). Their son, Ludwig Binge, is also an actor.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Her stage career includes performances in Die Uurwerk Kantel, (Woordfees, 2003), Eet Alles (Aardklop festival, 2004). Other productions include Susanna die Geliefde, Yerma, The Boy Friend, Op Dees Aarde, Jong Dames Dinamiet, Ou Blare.
TV work includes series like Sterretjie, Die jare daarna..., Kinders van die Sabbatsee,
