He played old and young male parts and wrote and delivered some of the epilogues. The company performed in the African Theatre at the Cape in 1807-8 in a range of plays, including The Rivals , The West Indian, Tom Thumb, The Beaux Stratagem, She Stoops to Conquer, etc.
