A radio play about everybody unloading their problems in "Mammie se Voorhuis" ("Mother's drawing room"). Wanneer Mammie se deur vir almal oop staan, kan dit nogal bietjie erg raak vir Tamia. Dit voel of Mammie al haar aandag aan die bure skenk, en nie op haar fokus nie. Dit veroorsaak dat Tamia die goeie nuus wat sy ontvang het, van haar ma en haar pa weerhou. Maar, ook net omdat haar ma haar gedurig in die rede val. Tog verstaan sy dat die dood van haar broer, nie so maklik vir haar mammie was om te verwerk nie.

Mammie se Voorhuis a radio drama by Erin Patience.

The original text

A radio play about everybody bringing their problems to Tamia's Mother's drawing room. When Mother's door is open for everyone, it can get a bit overwhelming for Tamia. It feels like Mother is giving all her attention to the neighbours, and not focusing on herself. This causes Tamia to withhold the good news she received from her mother and father. However, also because her mother constantly interrupts her. Still, she understands that the death of her brother was not so easy for her mother to process.
