Biography
He passed away on , 2024, having battled cancer for a while. He died peacefully at his home in Cape Town surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Riana, five children, Gertruida, Michael, Mara-lee, Dries and Kristo and seven grandchildren.

Scholtz’s career in the entertainment industry spanned over five decades, during which time he produced and co-produced 35 feature films including South African favourites such as PawPaw for My Darling, Meerkat Maantuig, two instalments of You Must Be Joking, Die Wonderwerker released in 2012 and Toorbos (2016) and all of the movies in the Oh Shucks franchise, where he worked alongside his long-time friend and award-winning film-maker, Leon Schuster.
He had also produced numerous television series, including Dryfsand (Kyknet, 2007) and P.G. du Plessis's Feast of the Uninvited.
