Pro Musica Opera Company was a production unit based at the Roodepoort Civic Theatre.
In some sources, billed as Pro Musica Opera Production Company.
History
Established by Weiss Doubell during his time as director.
The company was involved in pioneering work regarding opera in South Africa. Der Freischütz (Weber), Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor (Nicolai) and Romeo et Juliette (Gounod) had their South African debuts in the Roodepoort Civic Theatre, as had Fidelio (Beethoven).
