Biography

Born David Pollecutt March 27, 1942 in Greytown, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa.

He wasa member of the and Dickie Loader and The Blue Jeans and later became Also Known As


A composer and musical director, he was also a writer of award-winning advertising jingles. Worked in the business for over 40 years before his sudden death on 13 October 2001 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Married to Laura, and the couple had two daughters (Larissa and Samantha) and two sons Michael and Brendan Pollecutt.

Conctribution to South African theatre, film,media and performance

He was composer/musical director for a few musicals, such as African Footprint and Sex, Tango and Everything Else (2001).

Film and TV soundtracks include the original scores of Groetnis vir die Eerste Minister (1973), Boland!
