History
Founded in 1925 when RA Shooter joins LG Shuter as new co-owner of Vause, Slatter & Co., a bookstore, in Pietermaritzburg. The name is changed to Shuter & Shooter at this time. It is particularly focused on educational material and in 1930 they also begin publishing isiZulu novels, poetry, plays and textbooks.
