Polander. A puppet show put on by the so-called "Automata" or "Automaton Figures", large mechanical puppets, brought to in Cape Town by mr Parker in 1837. The dramatic play Children in the Wood was part of this show, while The Battle of Navarino between the British, Dutch and French fleets was performed later the month.
