Joan of Lorraine (1947) by American playwright Maxwell Anderson (1888-1959). In the play an experiment is made with a play in rehearsal while the actors discuss the way in which the characters shall be treated.

Directed for the Johannesburg REPS in 1947 by Muriel Alexander. Performed at the Wits University Great Hall. The cast included Hermien Dommisse, P.C. Birkinshaw, Alan Darling.
