Le Directeur de l'Opéra is a play by Jean Anouilh (1910–1987)[1].
First performed at the Comédie des Champs-Élysées in Paris on 27 September 1972, directed by Roland Piétri and the author. Published in Paris by Éditions de la Table Ronde in 1972.
Translated into English as The Director of the Opera by Lucienne Hill, and published in London by Eyre Methuen, 1973.
1977: First produced in South Africa by PACT in English in 1977, directed by Taubie Kushlick with Keith Grenville and Michael McCabe.
