The daughter of academic and theatre historian [[Julian Smith]], she studied drama at the [[University of Stellenbosch]] between 2003 - 2005, followed by an honours level BPhil in Journalism at the same university. She went into Journalism, working as a Journalist for Media24 (Pty) Ltd and Naspers Limited (2007-2011), then became the Managing Editor and Features Editor for New Media Publishing for a short while, before joining the US Business School at the University of Stellenbosch in 2012-2016 as a marketing specialist and writer, working in various capacities.

Cherice Smith is an actress.

Biography

The daughter of academic and theatre historian Julian Smith, she studied drama at the University of Stellenbosch between 2003 - 2005, followed by an honours level BPhil in Journalism at the same university. She went into Journalism, working as a Journalist for Media24 (Pty) Ltd and Naspers Limited (2007-2011), then became the Managing Editor and Features Editor for New Media Publishing for a short while, before joining the US Business School at the University of Stellenbosch in 2012-2016 as a marketing specialist and writer, working in various capacities.

In 2015 she also began taking further courses in marketing, doing the USB-ED Senior Management Development Programme at the Stellenbosch Business School (receiving the Director's Award for Best Student) and followed this with a masters in Master in Corporate Communication from the IE School of Science and Technology (2016 - 2017). Since then, she has worked globally for a number of companies.

As a drama student she had acting roles in Brolloks en Bittergal (written by Denene Erasmus, directed by Marthinus Basson, 2004),

She also wrote a play called Tussen Wyn en Wingerde in this time.
