Vergenoeg by Marita van der Vyver (1958-)* and Alexa Strachan (19**-)*
Vergenoeg ("far enough") is an Afrikaans South African drama, adapted by Alexa Strachan from the novel of the same name by Marita van der Vyver. A mother is dying; one daughter nurses her, with the help of some alcohol and a great deal of make-up. The human and timeless story is told with pathos and humour.

Marita van der Vyver's novel Vergenoeg was adapted for the stage by Alexa Strachan, with music by Herman van den Berg. Publication details of the novel and of the stage text have not been traced.*
Performance history in South Africa
2011: Performed at the US Woordfees, Stellenbosch, in the Oude Libertas Amfiteater on 7 and 8 March, as part of the Sanlam Dramafees. Directed by André Odendaal, with Sandra Prinsloo, Milan Murray and Alexa Strachan. Age restriction: no under-14s.
