The digital version of the groups offerings, is known as Independent Online (or simply IOL). This is a South African news and information website bringing breaking news and updates on Politics, Current Affairs, Business, Lifestyle, Entertainment, Travel, Sport, Motoring and Technology. IOL hosts the digital offerings of many of South Africa’s English newspapers, including The Star, Pretoria News, Daily News, The Mercury, Cape Times, Cape Argus, Weekend Argus, Sunday Independent, Saturday Star, Independent on Saturday and Sunday Tribune. It is owned by Sagarmartha Technologies Ltd, a subsidiary of the Sekunjalo Group, which also owns a majority stake in Independent Media.
