The Bed Before Yesterday is a farce by English writer Ben Travers [1] (1886-1980).
The original text
The play is about marriage and the sexual drive in women. First produced in London in 1975. It was the longest-running of all his stage works. When it was first produced Joan Plowright played the central character with John Moffatt, Helen Mirren and Royce Mills in the main supporting roles.
Performance history in South Africa
1976: Presented by Pieter Toerien, directed by visiting British director Tony Craven, starring Leonard Whiting, Graham Armitage, Marjorie Gordon, Naomi Buch, Jean Kent, Gordon Mulholland, Roberta Durrant and Leslie Sterry opening 30 September at the Civic Theatre. According to material held by NELM, Donald Howarth was to have been the director.
