Index on Censorship is a quarterly magazine published by the organization Index on Censorship, which campaigns for freedom of expression worldwide. The founding editor was the critic and translator Michael Scammell (1972–1981), who still serves as a patron of the organisation.
The Index has published numerous articles on South African theatre and other arts.
