The series
Based on the eponymous Afrikaans novel by Jan van Melle (published by Nasionale Boekhandel in 1963), the series tells the story of Pop le Roux, a beautiful but unsophisticated girl, the daughter of a poor farming family, her true love, the young farmer Manie Cronjé and the rich widower Jan Greyling.
