Shadow of Heroes is a play by Robert Ardrey (1958) about the ant-Soviet uprising in Hungary in 1956.

Broadcast to acclaim on television by the BBC. A television adaptation was made in Australia in 1961.

1975: Performed as Shadow of Heroes by PACT Drama, directed by Norman Coombes, starring Nigel Vermaas and Diane Wilson as Janos and Julie Rajk.
1982: Produced by students of Rhodes University Drama Department at the National Festival of Student Drama in Grahamstown, April 1982.
