The Duke in the Darkness is a play by Patrick Hamilton (1904-1962)[1].
The original text
A psychological drama set during the French Wars of Religion, it was originally performed on 7 September 1942 at the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh and then at the St. James Theatre, London, on 8 October 1942. It also ran on Broadway at the Playhouse Theatre from 24 January to 12 February 1944.
