Bachelor in Theatre & Television (2004) - Tshwane University of Technology, Pretoria, RSA; Master’s Degree in Screenwriting & Directing (Narrative Fiction) (UK). Gideon moved to the Netherlands in 2008 [1].
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He wrote the one-act play Steriel, Myth of Andrew & Jo, (Nominated for Best Play at the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival 2010) and Boetman is Bedônit.
Gideon directed Hamletmachine for the Technikon Pretoria Drama Department at the National Arts Festival, 2002, Wetters (KKNK 2004) and Outodidak (2009).
He acted in Gesplete Tong (2003) and assisted Mike van Graan in the translation of Die Generaal.
Awards, etc.
In 1998, while still a pupil at the Hoërskool Tygerberg, he won prizes for acting and directing at the ATKV Tienertoneelkompetisie.
