Born on December 12, 1935 in South Africa as Yolande Eileen Turnbull. She left for London in 1955 where - as Yolande Turner – she made a name for herself as a film and TV actress and scriptwriter. She also met and married film star Peter Finch [1] in 1956 (divorced 1965) she published a book chronicling their marriage. She died on November 6, 2003 in London, England.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She had a small part in Charley's Aunt at His Majesty's Theatre in 1951. She also acted in The White Sheep of the Family (1952) and in Spider's Web (Johannesburg REPS, 1955). This was her last performance in South Africa before leaving for London.
