Harm Oost (1877-1964) was a journalist, playwright and actor.

A close friend of Gustav Preller, he became an important member of the Afrikaans-Hollandse Toneelvereniging (AHTV) and author of its first-performed play and firm favourite, Ou Daniël, which he wrote in 1906 in anticipation of the association’s establishment.
