A Dead Secret is a play by Rodney Ackland (1908-1991)[1].
It is a murder drama set in 1911 London, in whjich Insurance agent Frederick Dyson owns a house in London with his wife. Among the lodgers is a misery elderly woman, Miss Lummus, who hoards her money in the house. When she is murdered, Dyson is charged with the crime. First performed in 1957.
Various radio and TV versions were made of the play.
A South African production (date and venue unknown) featured Bess Finney.
