Advertised as a "good two character piece" in a listing of "Plays suitable for private performances" in The Illustrated Queen Almanac and Lady's Calendar for 1881 (p.62). Clearly written some time earlier.

1877: Performed performed in the Theatre Royal, Cape Town, by Disney Roebuck's company on 25 October, as an afterpiece to Blow for Blow (Byron).
