Drakenstein, My Drakenstein!, subtitled "'n klug in drie tragiese bedrywe" ("a farce in three tragic acts"), is a play by M.M. Walters (1929-2020).

The original text

Written in celebration of the centenary of the Franschhoek municipality, the farce dramatises the supposed discovery of oil in the Drakenstein-valley by the state-run enterprise Soekom ("search for it"), and uses this plot to satirise human weaknesses such as vanity, selfishness, avarice, and the like.
