Afrikaanse Pers-Boekhandel (Edms) Bpk (1947-1962)
Afrikaanse Pers-Boekhandel (Edms) Bpk ("Afrikaans Press Booksellers (Pty) Ltd") was an Afrikaans language book publishing hou, founded in 1947.
More popularly known as Afrikaanse Pers Boekhandel, the business had various alternative spellings for its name over the years, including: Afrikaanse Pers-boekhandel, Afrikaanse Pers-Boekhandel, Afrikaanse Pers Boekhandel and Afrikaanse persboekhandel. Abbreviated versions include Afr. Pers and Afr. Pers Boekhandel, and the company was also often referred to by its acronym A.P.B. (or APB).
Afrikaanse Pers (1962) Beperk (1962-1970)
On 1 Julie 1962 Afrikaanse Pers Beperk and Dagbreekpers Beperk (founded 1947) merged to form the Afrikaanse Pers (1962) Beperk
Merger with Voortrekkerpers (1971)
APB merged with the Voortrekkerpers on 1 April 1971 to form Perskor (Die Perskorporasie van Suid-Afrika) a powerful South African press group.
