Bryan Schimmel (19**-). Musical director and company director.
Contents
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He starred in Pump Boys and Dinettes (1990).
Performed in and wrote A Handful of Keys together with Ian von Memerty since 1994.
He was the musical director for productions of A Touch of Webber...A Taste of Rice which was staged at the Sound Stage Supper Theatre from 1991 to 1992, La Cage aux Folles (1996-7), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Grease,We Will Rock You 2006, Thoroughly Modern Millie (2007), Rent (2007).
He has directed for the Vita Awards, M-Net's Film Awards as well as Joan Collins's visit to South Africa. Musical direction and arrangement for the Miss SA 1993 Beauty Pageant - working with the legendary Peabo Bryson. Worked alongside George Benson.
