Got Green Chillies, Makoti is a one-woman play by Vivian Moodley, about Gladys, a poor but enterprising vegetable hawker, grappling with her past as an activist and wife to a wandering husband, and her present day dealings with indian and white “madams”.

Performance history in South Africa
1993-1993: First staged, directed by Vivian Moodley, featuring Pertulia Ramaphala, at Natal Technikon, Department of Drama in 1993 and then at the Grahamstown Festival in 1994.
1995: The same production was staged in the Pieter Roos Theatre at the Johannesburg Civic in June 1995, presented by Enact (Ensemble of Artists Communicating Through Theatre).
