The original text
First performed at the Royal Princess's theatre, London, on September 18th, 1852. Published in London by T.H. Lacy in 1852(?) and by Samuel French in 1854(?).

Performance history in South Africa
1862: Performed by Clara Tellett's company in the Theatre Royal, Cape Town, on 14 July, with The Warlock of the Glen (Walker) and a "clog dance" by Mr Stokes.
