The original German play is not known.
Translations and adaptations
Translated into Dutch as Een Gevaarlijke Sujet ("a dangerous guy") by J.H.M. Franzen and published in Drieborg by Bakker, 1899.
Performance history in South Africa
1910: Performed in Dutch as as Een Gevaarlijke Sujet on 18 October by Aurora III in the ANV Saal, Cape Town, along with a performance of Bekroond (Bosch).
