The film
Known as Call me Thief in English, or often found bilingually as Noem My Skollie: Call Me Thief, it is based on the true life story of a young man who becomes a storyteller in jail.
Based on the experiences of John W. Fredericks, the script written by John Fredericks and John W. Fredericks, directed by Daryne Joshua.
Released in 2016, it was the official submission of South Africa for the 'Best Foreign Language Film' category of the 89th Academy Awards in 2017.
