Een Oude Rat in de Val ("An old rat in the trap") is a Dutch one-act comedy by Jan Schuitemaker (fl 1860s-1870s)

The original text
Called a "poets in één bedrijf" ("a practical joke in one act"), it was written for the Redrijkers and published in Purmerende by J. Schuitemaker in 1866.

1874: Produced in Dutch by the amateur company Aurora II on 9 April in the Oddfellows Hall, Cape Town, as afterpiece to Vader en Zoon (Ankersmit).
