Written for the Rederijkerskamer "Streven Naar Volmaking" at Kommerzijl, 1857. Published in Amsterdam by G.T. Bom, 1864.

1871: Performed in Dutch as De Wees uit het Gebergte by Aurora II on 19 October in the Germania Hall, Cape Town, with Zonder Geld op Reis (A.A. van der Stempel).
