Een Offer der Vrijheid (1762) is a Dutch play in five acts by Jan Schuitemaker (fl 1860s)
Contents
The original text
Written specifically for the Rederijkers, the play is freely translated from an unknown German original as Een Offer der Vrijheid (1762). Styled a "Historic-dramatic sketch from the seven years' war, in five acts" ("Historisch-dramatische Schets uit den Zevenjarige Oorlog in vijf bedrijven").
The translator listed simply as "de schrijver van Een Geschandvlekte Naam", but is generally believed to be the publisher, J. Schuitemaker. Published in Volume 4 of Bibliotheek voor Rederijkers by J. Schuitemaker, Purmerende, 1870.
