Written for the Rederijkerskamer Oefening Baart Kunst and published by K. van der Hulst in Kampen, 1868.

Performance history in South Africa
1870: First performed in the Germania Hall, Cape Town, by Aurora II on 2 June, with Gustaaf Heller, of Het Offer der Verleiding (T. van der Stempel).
