Michael Gritten (19**-) Actor.

Biography

Training

Graduated from the University of Natal, Durban, with a B.A. degree in Speech and Drama, 198*.

Career

He was a member of the Durban Theatre Workshop Company. He moved to Johannesburg in 1994.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He has toured with a school's production Hooked on Books. He has done some television work.

He appeared in East as Les in 1994 and as Reverend John Hale in The Crucible, 1996. He had a role in Popcorn by Ben Elton, 2000. He played Arthur Sprout in Tree Boy, 2010.

Awards, etc

Winner of a Vita Award (Gauteng region) as most promising newcomer for his role as "Les" in East.

Winner of a Vita Award (KZN region) as best lead actor for his role in Popcorn, award year 2000.

He also won a Fools Awards as best actor for an unknown production.
