William Kennedy-Laurie Dickson (1861-1932) Pioneer of film, inventor and photographer. (According to some sources he was born in 1860 and died in 1935).
Worked for Edison company and came to South Africa in 1899 to film the Anglo-Boer War.
His book The Biograph in battle : its story in the South African War related with personal experiences was published by Unwin in 1901.
