He started his career with the Anton Ackerman Geselskap, playing under his own name, Hans Brits. In 193* he assumed the stage name Don Siebritz and founded his own Afrikaans touring theatrical company, the Don Siebritz Geselskap, producing plays such as Die Verkeerde du Toit ("The Wrong Du Toit"), Heuwels Bedek My ("The Hills Cover Me") and Na Vele Dae ("After Many Days").
