Originally produced at the Haymarket Theatre, London, in April, 1840.

Performance history in South Africa

1853: Performed as How to Pay the Rent in the Garrison Theatre, Cape Town, by an amateur company, possibly members of Lycett's Company, as afterpiece to The Golden Farmer, or The Last Crime (Webster).
