In 1948?* NTO founded a bilingual company to tour with Afrikaans and English plays. The last bilingual company toured in 1950.
In 1951 this joint company was replaced by two independent touring companies – an English company and an Afrikaans company, to tour independently till the dismantling of NTO in 1961.
