(17**-18**) A pioneering ballet master in the Cape Town between 1802 and 18**. Besides choreographing the dances for some productions, including productions by C.E. Boniface, he also put on ballets, presented by his pupils, which formed an integral part of the theatre in the Cape for quite a few years. The first, entitled The Cunning Wife, or The Lover in the Sack, formed part a programme presented in celebration of the King's birthday on 28 June, 1802.
On 22 June 1815 he choreographed Boniface's ballet Sappho, for production by Honi Soit qui Mal Y Pense, with music composed by Mr Lemming.
