Based on Sir Walter Scott's novel of the same name, it was dramatised by Terry and first performed in London on 12 March 1816 at the Theatre Royal, Covent Garden. First published
Later published 1860 by Samuel French, New York, with an editorial introduction by H.L.

1826: Performed as Guy Mannering in Cape Town by the Garrison Players on 31 August, with The Review (Colman Jr) as afterpiece.
