Mr Charles West was a visiting British performer, "from the Royal Amphitheatre" (i.e. [[Astley's ), who was in Cape Town in 1833.
On 13 July 1833 he performed what is cited (see Bosman, 1928: pp. 126-7) as "a new Pantomime delineation of the Clown and Goose" in the African Theatre, as part of an evening presented by All the World's a Stage.
