He was a founding member of the Benoni Volksteater. He took an active part in English and Afrikaans productions in Johannesburg.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

The Man in Half Moon Street and Eindeksamen under the Russian producer Ossip Runitsch were marked successes for him.

He appeared in a number of plays for the National Theatre Organisation, including An Inspector Calls (as stage manager and alternating the part of Gerald, 1948), Hassan (1950); Die Vrek (1951), As Ons Twee Eers Getroud Is (1952), Die Indringer.

He played the role of Dr Farclet in the Afrikaans adaptation of Duet for Two Hands.
